Cecilia Mignon (born Portland, OR 1991) is a non-binary photo-based artist living and working in Oakland, CA. Their work explores temporality, softness and poetic space. Both in imagery and in process, their interdisciplinary practice studies these themes through a gentle deconstruction.
Mignon has recently finished residencies with MRKT STUDIO and Kala Art Institute, exploring large scale photo-based installation. Their work has been shown throughout the Bay Area and nationally, most recently with MRKT Gallery (San Francisco, CA), Goodmother Studio (Oakland, CA), Holding Space (Kingston, NY) and Edouard Merlier Photo Gallery at Cypress College (LA).
They received their BFA in Printmaking with the Thesis Award at Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2014.
